“HDB Block” – hansel’s now iconic pattern - inspired by Singapore’s unique Housing and Development Board (HDB) public housing blocks - is now part of the National Design Museum’s permanent exhibition, “Fifty Years of Singapore Design”.
Developed from hansel designer Jo Soh’s hand-drawn artwork, the pattern features the facades of low-rise HDB blocks from the Siglap neighbourhood. These charming flats were built in 1962 to house kampong (village) residents made homeless by a fire.

This dress is super easy to care for! Place the dress inside a zipped laundry netting bag and wash it in a short, cold machine wash (include the spin cycle) with gentle, colour-friendly washing detergent. Hang it up to dry. If necessary, a light iron will smooth out any creases however this fabric dries quickly with minimal creasing!
